Assmannshausen . . . Rüdesheim
The Niederwald, a wooded parkland high up in the hills above Rüdesheim and Assmannshausen beckon those who enjoy a leisurely walk through pleasant scenery. It's a recreational area of mixed forestry with resting places and landscape viewpoints.
The hill is easily reached by chairlift from Assmannshausen to the hunting lodge "Jagdschloss Niederwald" or by cable car from Rüdesheim to the Niederwald monument "Germania". You may walk between both places via well-marked footpaths (30 minutes).
